Our wedding beetle - VW Beetle Cabriolet 1500, built in 1969

The VW Beetle Cabriolet has a great history and many interesting facts and figures. Here are some of them:

Production period: the VW Beetle Convertible was produced from 1949 to 1980, which is over 30 years.

Units produced: A total of more than 300,000 VW Beetle Cabriolets were produced.

Engine power: 1.6 litre capacity, 47 hp

Top speed: approx. 130 km/h

Fuel consumption: petrol consumption averages between 8-10 litres per 100 kilometres

Weight: The kerb weight is 870 kg

Manufacturer: Everyone knows that the Beetle was built by Volkswagen (VW). But that’s not quite true. The Cabriolet was built almost exclusively by Karmann in Osnabrück (Germany). Karmann is still a renowned coachbuilder today.

Iconic status: The VW Beetle Cabriolet is a symbol of the 1960s and 1970s and has appeared in numerous films and television programmes, further strengthening its cult status.

Maximum of 3 passengers. The passenger seat can be removed if required so that the bride has more space for her wedding dress, for example. This reduces the number of passengers to 2.

Reliable vehicle: At least annual inspection in a renowned veteran workshop

Safety: modern 3-point automatic seat belts available on all 4 seats

New, modern and safe child seat (100-150cm) available (free of charge) - so that even your little ones can share this experience with you. Basically, any seat that is suitable for three-point belts can be attached. Isofix mounts were not invented in 1969. Pure Isofix seats therefore do not fit.
